How the AP Calc AB Score Is Estimated

The calculator divides earned points by possible points in each section and assigns 50 weighted points to MCQ and 50 to FRQ.

It compares the composite with editable estimated boundaries to display a planning score from 1 to 5.

Formula

Composite = MCQ% × 0.50 + FRQ% × 0.50

Example

32 of 42 MCQs and 36 of 54 FRQ points produce a composite of about 71.43%.

  • The prediction is unofficial and cannot guarantee the released AP score.
  • Current default planning cutoffs are 5 ≥ 70%, 4 ≥ 58%, 3 ≥ 43%, and 2 ≥ 32%. They are estimates—not official College Board cut scores—and can be adjusted in Advanced scoring settings.
  • The default follows the announced May 2027 format with 42 MCQs; select the retained May 2026 version for the previous 45-MCQ format.
